Hi! I'm Sophie, the new intern at Websters. I'm currently studying Business Management, SME & Entrepreneurship. It's quite a mouthful, but it's actually quite simple: we learn how to set up a business AND how to run one. I'm currently in my third year of my bachelor's degree and feel ready to enter the world of work. I'm taking that first step at Websters.

The connection with entrepreneurship

I initially chose SME & Entrepreneurship because I was looking for an environment where I could give my (sometimes crazy) ideas free rein. I was able to do this during the ‘small business project’ where I and my team set up our own company, ‘SensitWear’, a start-up that develops special clothing for highly sensitive children. This process broadened my focus from just entrepreneurship to marketing and graphic design. I realized that there are no limits when it comes to marketing and that sometimes the craziest ideas can be the most successful. I already felt completely at home.

What am I actually doing here?

I wanted to do an internship somewhere where I wouldn't just be making coffee, but somewhere where my input would really count. During my job interview, I immediately noticed the pleasant atmosphere at this marketing agency and how interns are given the opportunity to make an impact. On my first day, I noticed that assignments were given to me with a lot of confidence and that I was allowed to work with an experienced team that knows exactly what it is doing. For me, this is the perfect learning environment.

My creative outlets

I carry my creativity into my free time. My room is full of materials from new hobbies that I pick up every so often. You'll often find me behind a sewing machine, behind a sketchbook, or with my nose in a book. After stimulating my brain creatively, I might as well plop down on the couch for a series (or two).
